Tooth whitening

The first thing people notice when they meet you is your smile.

Have a look in the mirror and compare the white of your eyes to the colour of your teeth. Are your teeth more yellow than they could be?

Smoking, red wine and food can all stain your teeth making them much more yellow than your eyes. This can be easily reversed with tooth whitening.

The process uses a special oxygen releasing gel which passes into the enamel of your teeth, lifting and dissolving all the stains deep down below the surface.

If you have tried kits purchased in the shops and have been disappointed by the results, you should consider our professional whitening which uses high quality whitening gel which has been specifically formulated for use under the care of a dentist.

Your tooth whitening can be carried out at home or in just 1 hour by us!

To whiten your teeth at home we take impressions of your teeth which are used to make thin clear trays which custom fit your teeth. We then supply you with a professional whitening gel to place in your tray. You must wear your tray and gel for 1 hour every day (we usually recommend in the evening when watching TV) and within two weeks you will have a whiter smile! Enough gel is supplied for over 21 applications just in case you want your teeth a little whiter. You can stop sooner if you feel that your teeth have reached a shade which you are happy with.

We can also whiten your teeth is just over 1 hour using our at-surgery whitening system. This is the same process as is often seen on 10 years younger and other make-over TV shows. We apply three applications of the special whitening gel and light to your teeth to make them whiter. A 1 hour session in the surgery is equivalent to about 7- 10 days of home whitening. We also make you a set of custom trays to be able to continue the whitening process at home should you wish them whiter than we can achieve in a single session.

The whitening process causes no damage to your teeth, however you can sometimes experience a little sensitivity to cold during the process and for a couple of days afterwards.

Your whiter teeth will last for many months to come (thought this can depend on how much red wine you may drink!). They can be easily maintained by removing any stain that has build up by a ‘top-up’ session. We will supply you with a tube of our professional gel to use in your custom trays and used regularly (every 3-6 months) one or two applications will remove any surface staining and keep your smile white!
